Japan Green Bond Symposium | News & Link

Recently, domestic and overseas bond issuers and investors are showing an increasing interest in green bonds. To accelerate this movement and extend the green bond market in Japan, it is important to widely share and disseminate information on the latest trends in green bonds both in Japan and overseas.

The Ministry of the Environment, Japan(MOEJ) is currently providing information related to green bonds through its "Green Bond Issuance Promotion Platform".

As part of the Platform, MOEJ will organize the "Japan Green Bond Symposium" at Tokyo International Forum on Friday, 1 March 2019.

This Symposium will share information on the latest trends of green bonds in Japan and overseas, green finance and ESG investment, and introduce Japan's green bond issuance, investors' efforts for green bonds and efforts for promoting green bonds at the local level. The event will also announce the recipients of the "Japan Green Bond Awards" to honor advanced efforts on green bonds.

We look forward to participation from companies, local municipalities, institutional investors and other relevant stakeholders who are interested in green bonds.

The Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) acting as the Japan Green Bond Symposium Secretariat is in charge of registration. After your registration is completed, an email stating 'Acknowledgement of Your Registration' will be delivered automatically to your registered email.
An Admission Sheet will be sent to you separately by 27 February 2019 (Wed).
Please contact us at fin-gbp@iges.or.jp if you do not receive the Admission Sheet by then.
We may take photos of the event on the day and upload them onto "the Green Bond Issuance Promotion Platform" website. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
